Agriculture and fishing

Agriculture has never had a major impact on Singapore’s economy. Together with fishing and mining, it accounts for less than one per thousand of GDP.

  • CountryAAH: Comprehensive import regulations of Singapore. Covers import prohibitions and special documentation requirements for a list of prohibited items.

There is some cultivation of fruits and vegetables, as well as production of chickens and eggs for the domestic market. However, most of the food needs are covered by imports. Flowers, especially orchids, are grown for export. There are two fishing harbors and several fish farms, but production accounts for only a fraction of the consumption. However, Singapore is one of the world’s largest producers of aquarium fish. For Singapore defense and foreign policy, please check recipesinthebox.
